Key Individuals - Trading Cards

Many people played important roles in the American Revolution and in the culture of the Revolutionary period. These people include: King George III, Lord Cornwallis, John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, Phillis Wheatley, Paul Revere, and Molly Pitcher.

Your assignment is to create character trading cards for these individuals. Choose at least seven of the important revolutionary figures listed above for which to create a character trading card. A character trading card is similar to a baseball card. On a baseball card, there is a picture of the sports figure on the front of the card and there is statistical information on the back, along with some biographical information.

Assignment

For this assignment, you will use index cards to create your trading cards. An image of the person should be included on the front of the card, along with his or her name. On the back of the card, you should list the person's role in the revolution or in the culture of the revolutionary period. You should also include some biographical information about the person and list key events he or she was involved in and/or contributions he or she made to the revolution or to society. You may use color when creating your images or writing the information on the back of the card, if you wish. Make sure your work is neat and easy to read!

You may use your notebook, textbook, or the internet to help you. If you would like to use the internet, click here to conduct an internet search on each revolutionary figure.
